For family rafting fun enjoy the Class I rapids of the Tuckaseigee River . Kids and young as 4 can raft the calmer waters of the Tuckaseigee River with Mom and Dad. If you compare the Tuckaseigee River to the Nantahala River, the white-water is there, but the danger level is reduced making it more fun and much safer for younger children. Also the water temperature for the Tuckaseegee (of 60°-70°) is much warmer than the freezing average temperature for the Nantahala (of 38°-54°) .
